Project Night Night: Mark your Calendar

Hey Ladies!

I am very excited about our January Service Project. This project will require more time/planning hence why I am posting about it in October :)

We will be providing homeless children with a tote bag filled with night time goodies. I think everyone can get involved with this project (young & old). Since all the women/children homeless shelters are in Detroit (& quite frankly I do not feel comfortable going downtown with just women & children) I thought we could include our husbands. The tentivite plan right now is:

  • Ordering Totes
  • Passing them out
  • Fill totes (on your own)
  • Head to a shelter (tbd) with husbands/children on Saturday night (tba)
  • Provide Dinner (soups, crackers, bread)
If anyone has connections with a women/children's shelter, please let me know!

Cancer Center: Chemo Kits

Hey everyone!

Today we had the privilege to visit the cancer center & pass out the chemo kits we had made. It did not go exactly as planned  (some cancelled due to sickness & the kids weren't allowed back) but all in all it was a humbling experience. Something so small brightened the patient's day! Here is one example of our kit:

Thanks Brady & Levi for bringing the Chemo Kits!

Moms with a Purpose

Hello Friends,

Recently I have become a stay at home mom & have more freedom to go out & enjoy my 10 month old daughter, Oakley. The other day I paid $4 for her to play at a play place for an hour or so then it hit me; I could do A LOT more with my time & money (& in the long run teach my daughter more then the play place could). That is why I've started a community service outreach. As of now I plan on doing 1 activity per month. Please leave your e-mail address in the comments to be added to the e-mail list. Thanks!
